Meet the Nine: The House Rabbits of Bunny Treat

Bunny Treat started in our living room, with nine house rabbits who share our home: five girls and four boys, all spayed or neutered, and all part of our family for about six years now. Every care tip on this site comes from living with them every day, so it only seems fair that you meet them.

Where it all began: Cinnabun

Cinnabun is a lionhead and the mama who started our family. She is also the most wild of the bunch. During the COVID lockdown, a mother rabbit hopped into our yard, we took her in, and two weeks later she had all of her babies. We have been keeping them ever since. Cinnabun still keeps a little of that wild streak, and we love her for it.

Charlie, “the Professor”

Charlie is a lop who is reserved and serious, which is how he earned his nickname, “the Professor.” He watches everything before he decides what to do about it.

Kiwi and Honey

Kiwi is a dwarf lop and our binky king. When he is happy, you know it, because he leaps and twists in the air. His wife, Honey, is also a dwarf lop, and she is the sporty one.

Snowball and Snuggs

Snowball is a handsome, loving lionhead. His wife, Snuggs, is a lionhead too. She is observant, and she loves snuggles.

Nibbler and Puff

Nibbler is a lop and the biggest of our rabbits, and he is very sweet. His wife, Puff, is a lop as well, and she is proper and prim.

Dandy

Dandy is short for Dandelion. She is an albino lionhead and very sweet.

What nine personalities have taught us

No two of our rabbits behave alike. Some are bold, some are shy, and some would rather sit quietly beside you than be picked up. That is why we keep telling new owners to let their rabbit set the pace. If you are just starting out, our guides on new bunny care basics, befriending your rabbit and rabbit body language are a good place to begin.

General care information, not veterinary advice. If your rabbit seems unwell, call a vet who treats rabbits.
