Meet Cinnabun and her babies

During the COVID lockdown, a mother rabbit hopped into our yard.

We took her in, and two weeks later she had all of her babies. We’ve been keeping them ever since, and today nine rabbits share our home.

Bunny Treat is our way of sharing care tips with other rabbit people, from one full house to another.

How we care for our nine

We’ve had our rabbits for six years. All nine are spayed or neutered, five girls and four boys. They roam free inside our home and play outside during the day.

Scroll down to meet all nine.

  • Hay first. Fresh Timothy hay is always available.
  • Pellets. We feed Oxbow Garden Select, a non-GMO pellet.
  • Greens as treats. We also give fresh and dried flowers.
  • Small amounts of fruit and veggies. We keep them limited because we want to keep stasis away.
  • Things to do. Box forts, apple wood to chew, and homemade Timothy hay treats.
  • Grooming. We brush them and trim their nails ourselves.

This is what works for our bunnies. Every rabbit is different, so check with your vet about yours.

What you’ll find here

A note on advice. Everything here is general care information, not veterinary advice. If your rabbit stops eating or pooping, or just seems unwell, call a vet who treats rabbits right away.
